Finally, after a long time i got a point which is confusing me more and more. What if you don't remember all the dialogues and characters of play written by the great Shakespear? What if you don't remember every poem written by Wordsworth? What if you don't remember the third paragraph of theory of Tradition and individual talent? What if you don't remember the last paragraph of Wuthering Heights? Think about it. I know the answer and that is- you will fail in the examination. Hahahha. I really don't understand logic behind these types of questions.
When one student is preparing for PhD than the first step is Research methodology. Without that knowledge no one would be able to write proposal. The second thing is knowledge of criticism but not word to word but only the most important part of the theory. Yesterday i have attended PET of VNSGU. there was such questions which made me confused. There was not a single question regarding research methodology, very few questions from criticism, and full paper was from history only. Last year i have completed M.A. and this year i want to start further study so i have applied there. But they are expecting from me that i must have read all the novels, criticism and poems from 430 BC to present day. and its not only about English literature but also African, Indian writing in English.
I know that any of the research should be "standing on giant's shoulder" so it is important know about all theories and literature. Knowledge of the texts become helpful to support your topic. But that doesn't mean everything which comes under LITERATURE will be helpful to your research.
There is one more thing-they don't allow to carry question paper after examination. They used to take it with answer shit. and after that they are ready to give us copy of our answer shit. I really don't understand logic behind this. What will student do with OMR sheet without question paper?
these are the things which bother me a lot. If you have any answer than please write in comment section below.
