Dream Girl

"Now it's turn of our dream girl "  announced and everyone go crazy to listen to her.
"Honorable principal, teachers and my dear friends. Revolution in the education is clearly visible......." She has started and everyone forgot everything.
"Thank you so much.." she has ended and a huge round of claps didn't stop untill she left the stage.
"She is a smart student and she will definitely become the state champion" students whispered in the ears of each other. Principal as well as her tutor and other participants were very much impressed by her performance and they became more hopeful for her.
"Congratulations dear" she heard from back and found her tutor looked happy.
"Thank you so much sir, it's your success not mine, if you didn't help me than I won't be able to achieve this."
She was participating in the zonal level competition. She looked so happy because her father also came with her to listen her performance.
"Attention here, please, whoever get the first and second ranks are going to participate for the state competition and they will represent our eight districts. We are very hopeful for our stars to shine at the state competition. This function ends here and we wish all the best to our representatives."
Ani looked very excited. People used to call her dream girl because she has big dreams and those dream used to change with time. She wanted to become a fashion designer when she was in 9th,when she was in 10th she wanted to become a doctor, in 11th she wanted to become a teacher and now she wants to become a motivational speaker. Because when she goes on the stage and give the speech  people thought that she has got blessed from some supernatural power because she never takes much time to remember her speech and her speech looks like written by her because she speaks with emotions.
Next week at the  Mumbai she has competition. She looked very excited. Her dream to win state elocution competition going to be a real very soon. Her tutor also treated her in such a friendly way so it's became easy for her to understand the things easily. She didn't realize  that six days has been passed in the preparation and finally at the night she was going to leave for Mumbai. Ani belongs to political family so they have decided to stay at home of her grandpa's friend. But it was far away from her place of competition so they have decided to stay at some hotel.
" Are you ok with me to live in one room ? The tutor has asked and both of them  nodded because they believed him like a father. Three of them have decided to live in one room - Ani, Kinjal and her tutor.
" All the best Kinju " she has her essay competition on the first day while Ani has on second day. They did't realize how the time has been passed in going here and there for the topics of Ani's competition. Finally at the end of the day they got it. She didn't eat anything during the whole day.
" Gulabjamunnnnn...." She saw that and took one and as she has opened her mouth her tutor catch her hand
     " you can't eat that "
     " But it's my favourite.."
" Tomorrow you have competition and this will effect your voice "
    " Only one please.."
    " No means no"
She has started  eating other things but suddenly she felt her stomachache goes unbearable and she couldn't bear that anymore. She ran to the room and fall down on the bed. Kinjal and her tutor has completed their dinner and Kinjal gave her pain killer.
" You both sleep I am preparing your speech and as I will complete you read and recognise" her tutor gave smile and started his work.
She fall a sleep soon and she needs that. She was in the center of the bed on one side Kinju slept and other side her tutor was writing her script.
But in the middle of the night suddenly she wake up. She feels that someone try to kiss her and removing her t-shirt. She wake up. It was not scary dream but she saw the evil.
" How could you do that to me sir? She pushed him back before he can do anything she run away in the garden. Kinjal was lost in her dreams and Ani was lost in sobs. No one was there to ask her. She broken down in sobs and that melted in the dark night.
" Good morning mam ! One of the Hotel manager greeted her and she realised it's morning. She came to her room. She didn't find guilty on the face of that basterd.
" Read your script, you are going to speak this today." He put it on the table. She took the bath and read it many times but she couldn't remember a single thing.
" Are you all right Ani ? Kinju asked.
   " Yes I am..."
" She is not looking allright because of her today's presentation and also tired" Before she complete her sentence her tutor interfer.
" Yes, that's true. Bdw  Marry Christmas dear" Kinju hugs her cold body.
She took the bath and got ready for the competition. She tried her best to not forget her speech but it seems like her mind was stuck. She met the other participants and as she listened them she felt that she would get the rank easily because there was no one who can compete with her.
" Number four Ani Shetti " announced.
" Here present honourable judges, and all my dear friends, According to Indian concept earth is mother earth, we consider such animal as vehicle of God, we worship environment as God....And......And.....Hmmmmm...................,.....And............................................................,..................................................................." Her mind was blank. She kept mum.
She found her tutor staring at her and the last night suddenly lightened in her mind. She left the stage and for everyone it's seemed like strange.
" Let's go back to home today only " Ani was cried.
" But you want to see the Mumbai ...."
" But now I want to go back " before kinju complete Ani interrupted.
" Ohk, than we will go tonight " her tutor said and looked at her but she keeps her eyes on the ground.
They came back to home and she cried a lot. Everyone think it's because of her competition.
It was not only the one time but now tutor got the chance and he knew that she never said this to her family because he became good friend of her father. He used to come for dinner at her home. She remained silent. She put the smile on her lips which cried loudly from inside. He told her father to send her to his home for tuition and her father agreed.
Everyday she was harrased by her tutor. She can't speak to anyone. She remained silent and that basterd has spoiled the childhood of sixteen years dreams.
Many years have been passed but still she got scary dreams. And he lived like he has done nothing. He has destroyed the dream of dream girl.

The play -Breath

Samuel Bucket has written such a 30 second play named Breath. The play begins and the light moves focus from corner to the middle and again in the another corner. In the background there was some weird voice which was unclear. it was also match with the light the volume goes higher and mute. The play ends

We have habit of finding meaning from nothing and we avoid meaningful matters  like nothing. The name of Play is breath. When the child took birth he take the breath and when the person die he took out the breath. So the whole life pass in breathing only. And what we make during the whole life is garbage.Just in 30 seconds he has created a wonderful idea.

Such a different theme and seems like an absurd play.

To The Lighthouse

                                         To The Lighthouse

To the lighthouse is written by Virginia Woolf  who is very famous feminist writer in the history of literature. When the novel begin we find that they were talking about going to the Lighthouse but they were able to go there at the end of the novel The novel has been divided in to three parts. There are also huge time duration in between three parts. Mrs. stand for the lighthouse but there are some points which are also important to describe. Now rather than starting with the plot lets discuss the further reading points.

1)-To the Lighthouse become very famous novel because the writer has used technique which is known as Stream of consciousness. We always think more rather than action and it's always make everything more complicate rather than it is.

2)-When we talk about her tribute she was still alive in the memory of everyone. She become successful in what she want - to be immortal. Everyone feels her emptiness . But when we saw her as critique we find she behave differently with boy and girl child. She was pampering boy child while scolding the girl.

3)- Even may be she has never tried to establish good relationship between father and children. at first we may see that she was bridge between father and children because the child was afraid of father. Father was more realistic and also wanted his children to be like him but Mrs. Ramsay has always come between them, May be she was good in the eyes of both but as she died there was no connection between father and child because that so called bridge was not there anymore. At the end when bridge has collapsed they come closer and understand each other without bridge.

4)-We find the character of Lily and Mrs. Ramsay where both are totally different from each other. Lily may represent the Virginia Woolf because Lily have a vision like Woolf has. She was also been to well presented but is shows that as Lily was painting and not more dear to everyone same she suffers. With the help of her character she has tried to represent herself and prove that women can write, paint and they have their own vision.

5)-Mrs. Ramsay told the story of 'Fisherman's wife' in which his wife was more greedy and asking more and more from the fish. She is doing what she want in any cost. The character of Ramsay is also something like she was refusing to go to the lighthouse and putting many arguments. But here it was not her greed or her selfish purpose. And she used to tell this story to her children which is myth but she was not aware about harm of this myth.

Blog on Eliot

Respected sir,
Here I have given my views regarding your questions.
1) I find that Nietzsche have idea of super human which believe in future and progressive for the solution of current problems.  While T.S. Eliot has gone to history to find the solution because history never dies its live in another form and repeat so we can find solution from the history.  He gave example of Upanishad,  Buddhism and Christianity. Here I am agree with both of them.
2) I think that both of them are right on their places. Fraud believe in the individual while Eliot think of salvation with the help of religion and also we find that fraud gave equal place to individual as Eliot give place to human being.
3) When we read the poem ' The Waste Land' we find such a reference of Upanishada, Buddhism which prove that he has read the Indian literature. He find the last and ultimate salvation in Indian philosophy.
He has described three - Da
- Datta
- Dayadhvam
- Damyata
The poem ends with -
         "Om Shanti Shanti Shanti"
this show that he believe that the answer of all the questions are lying in the Philosophy of India.
Thank you.

Film review of ' The Reluctant Fundamentalist'

Few days ago in during the discussion of postcolonial study we got chance to watch the film 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist' which is directed by Meera Naire. The film is also known as " Dreams are lost in the melting pot"The film has very sensational theme. We find that everything is going good untill the attack on World Trade Centre. The protagonist was living happy life even we find that  a Pakistani person(protagonist) is living very happy life with his girl friend and very happy with his job. But just a one attack was enough to ruin his life.
As a Pakistani white people have started to look at him like he is terrorist. When he was checked by police it was really insulting act for him. We find that he lost his job and Visa just because of being Pakistani. Every person feel proud to be a citizen of his country but he was insulted because of his national status.
He come back to Pakistan. The people of his country have supported him. There is one dialogue,
" When I was there I have American dreams
but now you will help me to create
         Pakistani dreams "
He has started to give education to the students and also he was very popular among the students. He knows the power of pen and he has done it. But again American come to his country to caught him where they find he was totally innocent.
Black skin people are always being object of doubt for d white people. They used to treat them like slave and see them as a terrorist. The film has described that one left his all the happiness just because of his national status. It was really insulting point of seeing the way world and the poor countries.

Film review 'Midnight's Children'

Recently see got chance to watch film 'Midnight's children' at the department for academic purpose. The is a film directed by Deep Mehta which is based on the novel 'Midnight's children' written by Salman Rushdie. The film is interesting one. The film started when still India was ruled by English people. Then the moment come, on the night of 14th August, 1947 finally India got freedom and the children who were born on that midnight they all have some magical power.
The film has many of year time duration because the three generations were described by the director. The real picture of partition and the condition of India and Pakistan is described here. They all the Midnight's Children have some magical power and he find that no one else is capable to see their secret meetings.
Parvati is a magician to whome the protagonist used to call a Witch. she knows magic and he fall in love with her. Parvati have child in her womb who is baby of Shiva. One day Indira Gandhi declared  "An Emergency" and all the children of Midnight's were collected and made them incapable for children. All the slum area was removed to remove poverty of India which is such a cruel act of Indian politician !
Film narrated that all of them become a victim of condition. Really they are blessed or cursed ? The condition of poor people as well as high-class people who get higher position is very well presented. Even we find that high-class people believe in manners and lower class people believe in love.
The last scene of the film when protagonist introduce his son to his nurse he call her as mother and he introduce his son to his nurse as son.  That are not true relationships but when there is no one to share love whoever we have become the family is really heart touching scene of the film.

The fact of child labor in the world

When i saw some children whose age for study wasted in laboring. In the light world that side is always hide behind the sparkling of progress. Here i have mentioned some facts of child labor which is stains for us.

FACTS OF CHILD LABORING:

·         The International Labor Organization estimates that 215 million children ages 5-17 are engaged in child labor (ILO, Accelerating action against child labor, 2010).
·         An estimated 12 percent of children in India ages 5-14 are engaged in child labor activities, including carpet production (UNICEF, State of the World’s Children 2010).
·         Approximately six out of ten slaves in the world are bonded laborers in South Asia (Siddharth Kara, Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery, 2008)
·         It would cost $760 billion over a 20-year period to end child labor. The estimated benefit in terms of better education and health is about six times that—over $4 trillion in economies where child laborers are found (ILO,Investing in Every Child, 2003).
·         Some children are forced to weave up to 18 hours a day, often never leaving the confines of the factory or loom shed.
·         Children trafficked into one form of labor may be later sold into another, as with girls from rural Nepal, who are recruited to work in carpet factories but are then trafficked into the sex industry over the border in India (ILO/IPEC, Helping Hands or Shackled Lives? Understanding Child Domestic Labor and Responses to It, 2004).
·         Experts estimate that child labor on South Asia’s carpet looms has dropped from 1 million to 250,000 since the launch of Good Weave in 1995.

There are also survey on Global Child laboring which can be describe as below:
  • 13,40,000 children below 5 die in a year, that is 3671 under 5 child deaths per day
  • Nearly half of all child deaths under 5 in India are attributed to under nutrition
  • 1 in every 11 children in India is working, when they should be at school
  • More than half (56%) of the under 5 deaths occur within the first 28 days of life, we work to prevent these lives
  • India accounts for more than 3 out of 10 stunted children in the world
  • 47% of the women in India are married when they are a child (before the age of 18), and 30% bear a child when they are a child (adolescent mothers)
  • 17.7 million children and adolescents are out of school in India, this is 14% of world's population of children out of school
  • 20% of grade 2 children in India cannot recognize numbers 1-9; 53% of children drop out of school at elementary level
  • 49.5% of grade 5 children cannot do subtraction and 55% of grade 8 children cannot solve 3 digits by 1 digit division problem; 51.09% of grade 5 children cannot read grade 2 English and 25.4% children of grade 8 cannot read grade 2 text.
  •  Thus child labor is not the problem of any one country or problem of any one era. It was started form much earlier when the master-slave relation was established. It is like a Global problem which has no end it is just running and still running..

Blog on structuralism

As we have seen that everything is always connected in one structure and when it is not it can not become a successful work of art. Structuralism is an approach to analysing the narrative material by examining the underlying invariant structure. We are living in society which has also one common structure. We can define structuralism with the example of some films and serials.

Examples:
The film Players:(film)
Here we find that it was well developed and very smartly they made robbery. Even we find the story of revenge is also described here.

Airlift:(film)
This is also one of the best example where we can apply structuralism because we find that from the beginning Akshay Kumar making plan that how to save people and at the end he also become successful to do it.

Happy New Year:(film)
This is also well organized film story. They planed out and work on that and finally at the end surprisingly they become successful in doing their work as planned.

Chandi:(film)
This is one of the south Indian film and we find it is based on theme of revenge. As a girl she suffers but she was very conscious and also living in fire of revenge so at the end she completed her revenge and as a honest girl she arrest herself to the police.
These all are the examples of films which followed structuralism or we can apply structuralism on them.

Thank you...

Survey regarding my research

I met many people in the context of my research on Film and Fiction. I find that most of people answer positively when I ask if they have read books or not. But as I asked for the name most of them are not capable to give name books or author which shows that reading book is something like good thing. When children ask for permission for go and watch film most of the parents refused but when they ask to go to library most of parents encourage them to go there. 21st century is time of technology and books no more remain in Library but its come in Theatre and we have films which gives audio visual effect to those books. When I went to school for survey of children they have also done the same things. When I ask that either they prefer to read books or watching films and cartoons? Most of them choose to read books but when I ask to write name of books or stories you read and also name of films and cartoons they watch. The result is surprisingly most of them has given more names of film and fiction. At the end I find that most of us have different idealism and action. Reading book is something ideal while watching film is our action.

My research on film and fiction

Hi friends, this time i am working on my research. My topic is Film and Fiction, in this 21st century most of us have no time to read a long book and we used to watch a film. which shows that still we are hunger for stories, something which gives us relief from our daily life and the harsh reality. It was not only matter of modern time but from the ancient time we find place of literature in our society. We had tales from ancient time when it was in voice form, the stories passed through ear to ear than the invention of printing press has taken such a great revolution so the story passed through words to words but now it was time of technology, Film is such audio-visual material which also passed stories from one generation to other. Here i have try to make these all equal and put them in one row.
This survey becomes helpful for me to conclude the views of people of this 21st century. Here all the personal data given by you is only used for the academic purpose.  I have participated in Global Conference of English Study and all the data will be use for this survey only.
